Description

In this introduction to printmaking, students will have the opportunity to work with several print mediums including linocut, drypoint, and monoprint. Step by step demonstrations by the instructor will be followed by in-class projects, allowing students to practice what they have learned. In addition, students are encouraged to create their own independent work as they continue to become more familiar with each print medium. Everything that is taught during the course can be done at home without the need for expensive, specialized equipment. Students will receive feedback on their work from the instructor as well as from each other through critiques and informal discussions. The course will finish with a print exchange, where everybody will receive a print from each other.
