Description

The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provides health care professionals with the knowledge and skills of neonatal resuscitation. In Canada, NRP is administered by the Canadian Paediatric Society. For more information on required components as an NRP Provider see the  CPS Registration Guidelines.

Target Audience

Any healthcare provider who is required to participate in any part of neonatal resuscitation within their scope of practice may take an NRP course. The individual must be a licensed or regulated health professional (or student) such as physician, nurse, midwife, respiratory therapist or paramedic.

Course Outline

Participants must complete an online exam prior to the in-person component that focuses on the application of knowledge to clinical practice through skills checks, integrated skills practice and case based learning. The use of simulation and debriefing are prominent in building a team-based approach to care. Further details about the Text Book of Neonatal Resuscitation 8th Edition and Online Exam will be included in the confirmation letter provided with registration confirmation.

Registration closes 1 week prior to course to allow time for participants to complete required pre-learning.

The cost of the NRP online exam is $58.00 CDN and is not included in the cost of the workshop. Employees of health regions may have access to institutionally purchased log-on codes at a reduced cost.

Participants are responsible for obtaining the 8th edition NRP Provider Manual. Participants are required to successfully complete the NRP Online exam as a pre-requisite to attending the course. Further details about the Manual and Online Exam will be included in the confirmation letter provided by your local contact.
