This weekend workshop covers 3 types of resist dyeing - block resist, shibori style, and ikat style. Using wood blocks, clamps and specific folding techniques students will create a scarf with a repeating pattern.  Using thread and specific folding techniques students will create a set of 4 napkins.  Using yarn as a resist, students will create a dyed yarn that when worked up can create a pattern in the finished item.  While creating these items students will also learn proper dye safety, dye math to achieve desired outcomes, materials handling and proper disposal techniques, fiber/fabric preparation and why it is important.
