Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  1. Define and describe the principles of evidence-based medicine, and explain its role in pharmacy practice and patient care within the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice.
  2. Identify and access credible sources of medical and drug information, and understand the advantages and potentially disadvantages of each.
  3. Apply evidence-based tools and resources to assist patients, pharmacists, and healthcare teams in making informed recommendations and supporting patient-centred care decisions.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to communicate evidence-based findings clearly and appropriately to healthcare professionals and patients, within the scope of pharmacy technician responsibilities.
