As the program title indicates, participants will learn the fundamentals of project management. Participants will be able to use these concepts the very next day on their projects, giving an edge over competition.
The Fundamentals of Project Management is a hands-on, workshop-based, interactive program. It includes small group exercises, large group discussions, and instructor facilitation. Participants will be able to practice what they learn on a case study project.
This program utilizes many of the templates found in IPDI Project Management Template Library. After completion, participants will have free access to the Templates to use on their own projects.

Learner Outcomes
- Understand the two main approaches to projects: Predictive and Agile as well as the Hybrid approach
- Develop a Scope Statement for the project to depict what is in scope and what is not
- Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) / Sprint backlog to establish effective resource and duration estimates
- Develop duration estimates using various techniques
- Understand the application of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
- Understand the usage of a Task Board / Kanban on certain types of projects
- Establish effective adjustments, including risk responses, to the preliminary schedule
- Accurately update the schedule based on work performance
- Evaluate the schedule and budget variances and how to resolve them
