Course Description

Program Overview

This program, formerly called Leadership Essentials for Supervisors, equips emerging leaders with foundational skills to enhance their effectiveness. It's ideal for those overseeing small teams or preparing for future leadership. Participants will practice hands-on skills and strategies relevant to their work as leaders, culminating in a solid foundation of leadership expertise. By the end, they'll be confident and competent leaders, inspiring their teams towards success.

Learner Outcomes

By participating in this program, you should be able to:

  • Assess your leadership approaches, skills, and styles.  
  • Effectively communicate, delegate, and ensure accountability. 
  • Align your accountability to your organization’s overall business strategy and people management expectations. 
  • Enhance the performance of you and your team though the lenses of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and psychological safety?. 
  • Implement time management, productivity, and work-life balance strategies.  
  • Apply performance management skills to get the most out of your team.  
  • Plan for recruiting and building your team by considering your goals, duties, and responsibilities.  
  • Identify and interpret your responsibilities under the Saskatchewan?Employment Act and other relevant legislation.

  • Please use your USask NSID (the first six characters from your @usask.ca email address found on your student profile; e.g. abc123@usask.ca) and your password to log in to your Canvas account.

Cancellation:

  • At least or equal to fifteen (15) business days in advance of the course commencement date and all collateral (textbook, etc.) returned to Edwards Executive Education, will be subject to a $35.00 plus taxes administration fee.
  • Less than fifteen (15) business days prior to the course commencement date will be subject to a $535.00 plus taxes administration fee.
  • Less than three (3) business days prior to the course commencement date will be subject to full course tuition cost.
  • Non-attendance will incur full course tuition costs.

Transfers:

  • One course transfer will be permitted without penalty if the cancellation request is received more than fifteen (15) business days prior to the course start date.
  • Program transfers within fifteen (15) business days of the course start date will be subject to a $335.00 plus tax administration fee.
    • All collateral (textbook, etc.) must be returned to Edwards Executive Education before the transfer will be processed.
  • Transfer requests must be scheduled within six (6) months of the initial purchase.
  • Alternate program transfers may be approved dependent on course availability.
  • Each subsequent transfer request will be subject to a $335.00 plus taxes administration fee.
  • Applicants will be responsible for any price difference in program fees at the time of the request.

Participant Withdrawal or Transfer Policy

  • In the event of any registration cancellation or transfer, a $35.00 plus tax administration fee will be incurred.

From 45 Days Up To 16 Days Before Program Start

  • Cancellation: You will be refunded 50% plus tax of the program fee.
  • Transfer: You will be charged an additional transfer penalty equal to 20% plus tax of the program fee.

Within 15 Days Of The Program Start

  • Cancellation: You will not be refunded.
  • Transfer: You will be charged an additional transfer penalty equal to 50% plus tax of the program fee.
