Course Description

The Fitness to Drive course is a comprehensive course that offers detailed information in the following main areas:

Module 1: Introduction: Overview of the Purpose and Function of the Fitness to Drive Program
Module 2: Cognitive Impairment
Module 3: General Medical Conditions
Module 4: Physical Impairment
Module 5: Alcohol, Drugs, Psychiatry
Module 6: Miscellaneous Cases
Module 7: Wrap-Up Session: Summarizes the modules and deals with any outstanding questions or concerns.

Each area provides several cases that highlight how one should proceed and even queries you on what you should do. The course also provides a segment on Screening Tools, Miscellaneous Resources, and a Glossary. Finally, there is a short quiz at the end of each module to test your knowledge and Discussion topics to discuss key areas of content in the course.

Target Audience:
Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, and Eye Specialists required to report in Saskatchewan. Other health professionals are welcome.

Canvas Platform Access -  Will be available on the start date of the course.  Please log in with your USask NSID and password.

Extensions may be taken into consideration with formal notice of at least one month in advance of the end date of the course.

Refund Policy:  Cancellations must be received in writing by May 1, 2024 and will be subject to $75.00 + taxes administration fee.  Refunds will not be considered on or after May 2, 2024.  The Division of Continuing Medical Education, University of Saskatchewan, reserves the right to cancel or postpone a conference due to insufficient registration or circumstances beyond its control.  This course may be cancelled prior to the session date.  Each registrant will be notified with a full refund following the decision.  Continuing Medical Education cannot accept registration substitutions.
