Description

For students who have little or no experience in speaking Italian.

Students will master and learn to:

  • Introduce oneself
  • Present someone using tu                   
  • Present someone using lei                    
  • Greet someone    
  • Indicate one’s nationality                  
  • Ask for someone’s nationality                               
  • Spell                     
  • Indicate one’s profession                    
  • Ask for someone’s profession             
  • Indicate one’s telephone number        
  • Ask for someone’s telephone number
  • Indicate where one works   
  • Ask someone where they work           
  • Indicate in which town or city one lives                              
  • Ask someone in which town or city they live

A progress report is provided at the completion of the class.

This is a non-credit course.

To be sure this is the correct level to register in have a speaking assessment done.

Section Notes

There will be no class October 12, 2026.

Refund Policy:  A $75.00 withdrawal fee is charged for withdrawing from a course 2 weeks prior to the course start date. No course refund is processed after this time. Non-attendance does not constitute notice of withdrawal.  

The Arts & Sciences Languages Non-Credit Programming Unit reserves the right to cancel courses when there is insufficient enrolment; in these cases, a full refund will be issued. No transfers will be allowed from one term to another term. If a class is cancelled during the term, these hours will be rescheduled and made up. However, if a student misses a class, no rescheduling or make-up classes occur.
