Description

This class is an exploration of stitching, with instruction on lines, fills and motifs with various threads on a variety of fabrics.  Students will complete s sampler in the first three weeks to act a a stitch library for use in a self-designed project.  Then, students will expand into the realm of stumpwork, appliqué and reverse appliqué, ribbon embroidery and other textured stiches such as Turkish knots and looped bullion for embellishments and use alternative methods of adding colour on their pieces.  Further exploration of design and colour theory as it pertains to thread and fiber will be covered as well.
