This micro-credential is designed to equip municipal leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to address substance use harms within their communities.  It provides an in-depth understanding of the complexities of substance use, explores evidence-based strategies for harm reduction, and fosters the development of effective policies and programs.  This course is an essential resource for municipal leaders committed to creating healthier communities by addressing the challenges of substance use. 

Course Outline

  • This micro-credential is delivered asynchronously online within the Canvas platform.
  • In each of the four (4) modules, there are learning materials to explore, module activities to complete, and assignments to submit within Canvas.
  • Each module is two weeks in length.
  • Learners will be assessed using a competency-based system. To receive a digital badge for this micro-credential, you must submit all of the assignments and demonstrate competence in each learning outcome.
