Description

This course consists of two sections that will review fundamental concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion with a focus on trans and gender inclusive healthcare for youth. The first section consists of five self-directed online modules that will provide an overview of the importance of gender-affirming care for youth, gender-affirming physiotherapy, hormone therapy, caring for and counselling gender-diverse youth in primary care.  The second section will be an interdisciplinary virtual panel to cover frequently asked questions.

Section Notes

This course has online self-paced sessions through Canvas which will be made available on May 1st, 2025. There is a live interdisciplinary panel held on Zoom on June 12th, 2025 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The link will be provided in the Canvas course. If you are unable to attend the panel live, a recording will be made available in the course.

Refund policy: Refunds will be provided if notification of withdrawal is received prior to May 1, 2025, less a $50.00 plus taxes. If notification of withdrawal is received after the above-stated date, a refund will not be processed. Even if the course has been confirmed, CERS is not responsible for travel/accommodations costs booked in advance, in the event of sudden unavoidable cancellation of the course (i.e. instructor illness, Acts of God).
