Description

This learning activity focuses on the medSask VPD practice procedures and the use of the pharmacist assessment record for prescribing vaccines in Saskatchewan, not clinical information. Additional courses or reading may be required to achieve competency before prescribing.

Learner Outcomes

  1. Describe the pharmacist’s roles and responsibilities for domestic vaccine-preventable disease immunizations in Saskatchewan.

  2. Use a step-wise approach to assess clients and prescribe immunizations for domestic vaccine-preventable diseases. 

  3. Document according to the medSask VPD Prescribing Procedure using the pharmacist assessment record for domestic vaccine-preventable disease immunization.

  4. Evaluate and formulate strategies for effectively integrating vaccine prescribing into pharmacy practice.
